The Black & White collection at Laterem brings together 20 porcelain and ceramic tiles built around the sharpest contrast in tile design. You will find glazed porcelain, colored-body porcelain and white-body ceramic in both rectified and non-rectified production, with surfaces spanning matte, glossy, polished, and mixed polished-and-matte finishes on a single tile.

Formats run from small-scale 8x8 and 12x12 squares through 9x24 planks and 13x36 wall tiles up to large-format 48x84 and 84x144 panels. Patterns include rectangular, square, chevron and mosaic, so you can build anything from a tight geometric floor to a single continuous feature wall.

Checkerboard and geometric patterns

Checkered floors are the classic reason to shop this palette, and the Balance Stone series is made for it: 12x12 squares in white matte with black polished, or white polished with black polished, laid alternately for a traditional checkerboard. The same series in 9x24 and a 12x11 chevron cut opens up herringbone and zigzag layouts in the same two tones. Vanilla 8x18 pairs a white matte face with a black structured surface for a subtler, more textural take, while Stardust Black and Stardust White 13x36 give you the two extremes as plain glossy wall tile.

Where to use black and white tile

Filters cover bathroom floor and wall, kitchen floor and wall, shower floor and wall, backsplash, commercial floor, step tile, pool and outdoor wall. Rectified edges suit the tight grout joints a crisp checkerboard needs; a contrasting grout will emphasize the grid, while a mid-gray grout softens it.
