What Defines Marble and Travertine Look Tile

These 193 designs put veined marble and pitted travertine onto porcelain and ceramic. The marble side leans on movement: Sophi Oro pairs a glossy 12x24 ceramic wall tile in black or white with gold decor, Malena Graphite pulls a dark vein across a glossy face, and Onice Bianco comes as an 11x12 matte porcelain wall mosaic. The travertine side is quieter and more granular. Travertino Beige is offered as 12x24 and 12x48 matte step treads and as a 13x13 basketweave mosaic, while Tissue sets matte travertine-look ceramic against gold in 11x12 sheets. Arke Bone 24x48 in a sugar lappato porcelain sits between the two, pale and softly lit rather than heavily figured.

Choosing Marble Look Tile

Decide about shine first. Glossy and polished faces push veining forward and belong on walls; matte, satin and semi-matte read closer to a honed finish and are the safer call for a floor, with lappato in between. Rectified 12x24 and 24x48 rectangles stack cleanly on a thin joint, while pressed and non-rectified formats need a little more grout. Vein patterns repeat across a production run, so buy from one lot and dry-lay several boxes before anything is set. Light gray grout keeps a marble field continuous; a darker joint turns the same tile into a deliberate grid.

Where to Use Travertine Look Tile

Bathrooms are the obvious home. Put a matte travertine-look floor under a glossy marble-look wall tile above the vanity, then use a basketweave or elongated hexagon sheet, such as Travertino 13x13 or Aquamarine Gray 12x12, where extra grout lines add grip. Larger porcelain formats suit kitchens, hallways and living rooms that would be hard on a real slab. Step treads take the look onto stairs, and Veneto 14x14 works as an inset.
